Make Your Own: Candles

My mum is a huge lover of candles, so this Christmas I wanted to make her something special. Not just a candle, but a handmade one-of-a-kind candle made especially for her. Nothing says I love you like a thoughtfully handmade gift. These make great stocking fillers or little extras or perhaps if you have to buy a Secret Santa gift.

You Will Need:

 Instructions:

  1.  To melt the wax, place it in a heatproof bowl on top of a saucepan of boiling water and stir continuously until the wax had liquified.
  2.  Chip off a piece off the dye flake and dissolve it in the melted wax, continuing to stir.
  3.  Once the dye has dissolved into the wax, add a few drops of the scented oil.
  4.  Pour the scented and dyed wax into your candle mold whilst holding the wick in place.
  5. To keep the wick straight while the wax hardens, hold it in place with a clip.
  6. To speed up the cooling the process, either place the candle holder in cold water or place it in the fridge for a few hours.
